My Favorite Beauty Products

Well, I decided I needed to post a new entry and this was the first thing that came to mind. I don’t really want to write about what I talked about at therapy today; I’ll probably do that tomorrow. So, here’s a compilation of some of my favorite beauty products!

Pressed Powder Foundation

Cover FX Mineral foundation. This stuff is AMAZING! It literally covers up every imperfection on my skin, and I have a lot. The great thing about it is that it’s really light and it is a lot less expensive than other things you would get at a high-end beauty store, like Sephora, where I get all my makeup. I love this foundation for daytime, when I’m not too concerned about wearing a lot of makeup.

Liquid Foundation

Make Up For Ever HD foundation. For a liquid foundation, this is surprisingly light. It doesn’t feel cakey and it comes in a bunch of different shades that will definitely suit any skin tone. I like to use this for nighttime looks for a more dramatic look.

Single Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Eyeshadow. I don’t know what it is about Urban Decay, but they can do no wrong in the eye department. There are endless colors to choose from and they have a bunch of neutral tones that are great for blending. I’m not usually one for sparkly things, but these colors aren’t too noticeably sparkly, which I really like.

Eyeshadow Set

Urban Decay Vegan Eyeshadow Palette. This is my go-to eyeshadow combination when I don’t have a more specific idea in mind. I typically mix the second and third bottom brown shades. When I want a more dramatic look, I will add in some of the dark brown, usually around my lash line or in the outer corner.

Eyeshadow Primer

Urban Decay Primer Potion. To answer your question- yes, I am obsessed with Urban Decay eye makeup. It’s my guilty pleasure. But to talk about this primer, it is to me what a magic wand is to a magician. I wouldn’t be able to complete anything without it! But, the important thing is that it HAS to be in the original “color”. None of that shimmery, tinted stuff Urban Decay started to make. Yes, they are nice for when you aren’t wearing any other color on your eyelids, but it just doesn’t hold onto shadow like the original. The price is a little high, but it’s worth it. Nothing I have used works as well as this stuff.

Eyeliner

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes liner. These are my swear-to liners. After finding these, I will never use another brand. First of all, there are SO many colors to choose from! They glide on extremely smoothly and they hardly smudge. They stay better when used with primer, but some mornings I just have enough time to swipe on some liner and mascara and dash out the door. The only improvement is if they sharpened themselves!

Liquid Eyeliner

Urban Decay Liquid Liner. This little black bottle of bliss is my go-to for a classic cat eye. The small wand lets me get up close to the mirror and see more precisely what I am doing. It looks like it would be difficult to use, but it’s not at all. Plus, the bottle reminds me of a genie, so where can you go wrong with that?

Mascara

Buxom Mascara. Buxom. Need I say more?

Blush

Nars Blush in Orgasm. Orgasm is just the name of the shade. Trust me, I’m not trying to talk dirty or anything. This blush is the perfect subtle peach shade. I can not see how it could do any wrong for anyone? It has flattered every person I have put it on.  I have used it so much that I have broken the lid off! Once you use this you will wonder how you survived without it.

Concealer

Smashbox High Definition Concealer. This is a miracle in a tube. Any imperfections that my foundation doesn’t cover, this takes care of in one sweep of my brush. If you use this, you will not get the same results with your finger as you will with a brush. This concealer also lasts forever. I have had mine for quite some time and it looks like I haven’t used anything. On days that I don’t feel like wearing foundation, this will spruce me up in a jiffy.

                                                                                                    Foundation Primer

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. This makes my skin so smooth. I’m talking baby-butt smooth. It’s amazing! It feels like nothing on my face and it just holds everything on all day until I wash it off.

Perfume

Gucci Guilty

Marc Jacobs Lola

Dolce & Gabbana The One

You didn’t expect me to be able to pick just one favorite perfume, did you? Hah! No matter what mood I’m in, these three seem to be able to cover the board. Unfortunately, I am about to run out of all of them so I will need to stock back up soon.

Nail Polish

Essie. This is my favorite brand of nail polish, but just by a hair. Butter of London and OPI are close runners-up. Dark, almost black shades of purple and blue and grey are my favorite shades. Essie polishes are so easy to take off, I can usually get away with one cotton round for both hands. This brand also makes a super-awesome matte polish clear coat, that will instantly turn any polish matter. And just a hint: the matte polish makes the color dry so much faster!

Shampoo/Conditioner

Ojon Dry Recovery. Not only do these products smell divine, they make my hair unbelievably soft and silky. Just coming out of the shower, I can already notice a markedly less number of tangles in my mane of hair. Because these products are so expensive, I use them at most once a week and use Herbal Essences for my regular.

Heat Protector

Living Proof Straight Making Anti-Frizz Spray. I don’t know how heat protector spray works, but I use it religiously. Even if I am touching up my bangs, I will spray this stuff on my whole head. I cherish my hair and I want it to be able to grow long and strong, so I never let a heat product touch my hair without this spray protecting my tresses.

Body Wash

Philosophy Peppermint Bark. It’s no coincidence that Christmas is my favorite season and this scent is my favorite of the Philosophy collection. This shampoo, body wash and bubble bath combination smells intoxicating. I almost want to eat it! It rinses right off without leaving a film over my body. Plus, it comes with a recipe for peppermint bark printed right on the bottle!

Shaving Cream

Skintimate Flirty Mango Shaving Cream.  I love smooth legs and underarms. I love mangos. I love this product. It gets the job done and smells great at the same time. Not much more I can ask for here.

Face Wash
Cetaphil Face Wash. First of all, my face is very prone to acne. Nothing has been able to clear it up on its own, so I am seeing a dermatologist and am planning on going on Acutane. That said, this is essentially the only face wash that hasn’t caused me to break out more than usual.

Well I can’t really think of anything else right now. This is basically all I use for myself! I’m a pretty simple girl; I know what I like and I stick to them! If you would like to know about anything else that I use, I would be happy to share 🙂
